And the winner is...MN Baseball Hub Top Performer revealed

See who fans voted as the top performer from April 8-17.

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Baseball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer winner

Josh Kirchhoff, Concordia Academy. The junior provided both offense and solid pitching in the Beacons’ 6-0 win against St. Croix Prep on April 14. The righthander threw 101 pitches in 6 2/3 innings, allowing one hit and giving up two talks while striking out 16 batters. At the plate, Kirchhoff was 1-for-2 with a walk and a triple and tallied four RBIs.

Top performer candidates

Sam Hingsberger, Nova Classical. The senior righthander’s first appearance on the mound this season was an impressive one. Hingsberger tossed 88 pitches in the Knights’ 9-0 victory against Minneapolis Patrick Henry/FAIR on April 17. He allowed one hit and gave up one walk while striking out 17 batters in his seven innings pitched.

Josh Kingery, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City. The senior’s stellar pitching through the team’s first two games had the Falcons with two wins to start the season. Kingery recorded 32 strikeouts through the two games, allowing four hits and four runs — just one earned — through 14 innings pitched. The Falcons defeated Minnewaska Area 6-2 on April 10 and Paynesville 3-2 in 11 innings on April 15.

Sam Johnson, St. Croix Prep. The senior outfielder accounted for nearly all of the Lions' offense on April 16, recording a game-high six RBIs.  Johnson hit a triple and a home run and recorded two runs in the 11-7 loss to St. Agnes.

Carter Oftedahl, Breck. The senior shortstop helped the Mustangs build a lead that Providence Academy couldn’t overcome en route to the Mustangs' 8-6 victory on April 12. Oftedahl went 2-for-3 with a home run and a stolen base and a team-leading four RBIs.
